Sermon Title: NEVER BE SHAKEN! Stay your mind on the Lord!
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds stay on You, because they trust in You.” (Isaiah 26:3)
Dearly Beloved,
Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Peace of mind can come from circumstances; but that kind of peace gets affected when your circumstances change.
Peace that comes because your mind stays on Christ is unchanging, enduring and unshakable – completely independent from external circumstances.
Nothing can ever affect the peace of those whose minds stay on the Lord.
Such unchanging peace can only come from our Lord because “Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8)
Perfect peace comes only from utter trust in God.
And trust in God means that we would commit to offering our bodies “as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God” – for this is our true and proper worship. (Romans 12:1-2)
Sacrifices offered to God is consumed by Holy Fire.
As a living sacrifice placed on the altar of God, the believer is consumed by God’s Holy Fire – the Holy Spirit; who fills the believer with the Presence, Purpose and Power of God.
Saturated with the holiness and love of God, the heart of the believer is so transformed by His love and consequently, so filled with an immense desire to be holy and pleasing to Him; that the mind of the believer is renewed and made holy - having displaced every ideology, tendency, thought or even, impulse, that is not of God; never again, to ever conform to the pattern of this world.
The true child of the living God is not of this world; compliant only to Him, conforming only to His Holy Ways, and committing to live solely for His eternal Kingdom.
Are you a living sacrifice unto the Lord Most High?
His Perfect Peace belongs only to those who have been consumed by His Holy Fire.
Stay your mind on God.
The Apostle Paul exhorts in Philippians 4:5-8
“The Lord is near.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
Our minds must be protected; so that the evil one does not rob us of the knowledge of God’s Salvation through Christ Jesus, our Lord.
If we do not think for ourselves and commit to staying our minds on Christ, the devil will do our thinking for us!
We will be inundated and ultimately, overwhelmed, by the troubles of this world.
Commit to staying your mind on Jesus Christ, our Lord, our Saviour, the author and perfector of our faith!
Know that He is presently near; and that He is coming soon.
Stay your mind on Christ.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Stay your mind on Christ.
Do not let the devil do your thinking for you; think only about “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-- anything that is excellent or praiseworthy” – which is, the Word of God and His Work in our lives and in the world!
Brethren, if you are not meditating on the Word of God, I guarantee you that you are meditating on the words of the devil.
Commit to reading the Bible; commit to memorizing and praying corporately with the guidance of the Holy Scriptures.
Fill your mind with the Word of God.
Do not let the devil do our thinking for us; but allow the Peace of God through the Spirit and Truth of God – which transcends all understanding – to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus, our Lord!
Live in Perfect Peace; stay your mind on Christ!

Hallowed be Your Name.
Your Kingdom come, Your Will be done; on earth, as it is in heaven.
Thank You for Your Divine Promise: that
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds stay on You, because they trust in You.” (Isaiah 26:3)
Help me, Holy Spirit, to trust utterly in You; to stay my mind on You – that I may be kept in Your perfect, unchanging, enduring and unshakable peace.
In Christ Jesus, nothing of this world wavers my faith, peace, hope and love in God.
Praise be to You, O Lord!
May I be a living sacrifice – holy and pleasing – unto You, Lord.
May Your Holy Fire consume me; and fill me with Your Spirit!
Holy Spirit, saturate me with the holiness and love of God – that my heart be transformed and my mind renewed and made holy.
Rid my heart of doubt; and rid my mind of every ideology, impulse, tendency and thought that is not of God.
Grant me courage, strength, resolve and wisdom to never again, conform to the pattern of this world.
I repent of my sinful ways.
Forgive me when I conformed to the patterns of this dark world; when I allowed the devil to do my thinking for me; and when I descended into the depths of anxiety, despair and hopelessness.
Make me Your true child; compliant only to You; conforming only to Your Holy Ways and committing to seek first Your Kingdom and Your Righteousness. (Ref: Matthew 6:33)
I know that You are near; guard my heart and mind with Your Peace, O Lord!
Lord Jesus, I declare that I will not be “anxious about anything; but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving”, I will present my requests to You.
I believe in You, Lord, and in Your transcendent peace that will guard my heart and mind.
I commit to staying my mind on You, Lord Jesus; for You are my Saviour, and my God!
Help me be unwavering in my commitment to memorizing and praying corporately through Your Holy Spirit’s unction; guided by Your Holy Scriptures.
Yes, Lord; please fill my heart with Your Holy Spirit; and my mind with Your Holy Scriptures!
I will trust utterly in You and stay my mind wholly on You, Lord.
May I live forever in Your perfect, unchanging, enduring and eternal peace.
I thank You and pray all these in the Name of our King, Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
